Why Use a Meta Tag Generator?
Writing HTML code from scratch is tedious and prone to errors. The Technoloft Meta Tag Generator simplifies this process by letting you fill in a simple form to create perfect, SEO-compliant code instantly.
Meta tags are the “elevator pitch” of your website. They appear in Google search results and determine whether a user clicks on your link or scrolls past it. Using this tool ensures:
- Higher Click-Through Rates (CTR): By optimizing your Title and Description lengths.
- Correct Indexing: By setting the right “Robots” instructions (Index/NoIndex).
- Mobile Compatibility: By automatically including the crucial Viewport tag.
Which Tags Are Most Important?
While there are dozens of meta tags, modern SEO focuses on three key elements:
- Title Tag: The main headline in search results. It should contain your primary keyword.
- Meta Description: A 160-character summary that persuades users to click.
- Viewport: Essential for responsive design. Without it, your site will look tiny on mobile phones.
Once you have generated your tags, you can verify them using our Free Meta Tag Analyzer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I paste this code?
The code generated by this tool must be pasted between the
<head> and </head> tags of your website’s HTML. If you are using WordPress, most SEO plugins (like Yoast or RankMath) have specific fields where you can simply paste the “Title” and “Description” text instead of the full code.
Do Meta Keywords still work for SEO?
Google officially stopped using the “Keywords” meta tag for ranking purposes years ago because people abused it. However, some smaller search engines and internal site search tools still use them, which is why we include the option in this generator.
What is the difference between “index” and “noindex”?
Index: Tells Google “Please show this page in search results.”
NoIndex: Tells Google “Hide this page.” You should use NoIndex for private pages like “Thank You” pages, Admin areas, or duplicate content.
NoIndex: Tells Google “Hide this page.” You should use NoIndex for private pages like “Thank You” pages, Admin areas, or duplicate content.
Why is the character limit important?
Google only displays the first 60 characters of a Title and about 160 characters of a Description. If your text is longer, it will get cut off with ellipses (…), which looks unprofessional and can hide your main message.
