Instagram’s Threads app was launched and debuted in a significant way earlier this month. It lacked a lot of functionality, but there’s no time to spend as your Twitter boss digs a huge hole. As new threads enter the market, Meta is aiming to add missing functionalities over time. The most recent version includes some intriguing new features, most notably a new translation capability and a Follow tab in the user’s activity stream.

Engineer at Threads App, Cameron Roth shared the update on 18 July 2023 for the server-side update (via 9to5Mac). The “Translate” option, which allows users to translate content into multiple languages, is the most prominent feature. Roth said the functionality will be accessible to all Threads users later today.

In addition, users will see a new Following tab in their activity stream. This enables users to view the whole list of individuals who have followed them. This makes it easier to locate accounts that were not automatically followed by threads for whatever reason. Threads users may now navigate to their followers list and start following any account they wish directly from this page when it comes to user monitoring. The follow-only view is not currently available.
Aside from that and a few bug fixes, this isn’t the huge Threads update that fans have been anticipating since the app’s perplexing introduction. Despite the numerous lacking features, Threads reached 100 million users within a week of its inception, which likely tells more about its competitors than anything else. We’ll keep an eye on Threads’ progress and report back on anything worth discussing. Keep Following the Technoloft for more.
