Why Does Readability Matter for SEO?
Writing a highly researched, 2,000-word article is completely useless if your target audience cannot understand it. Search engines like Google actively track “dwell time” (how long a user stays on your page). If a user clicks your article, gets frustrated by long, complex sentences, and immediately clicks the “Back” button, your SEO rankings will plummet.
The Technoloft Readability Score Checker is designed to prevent this. By pasting your draft into our analyzer, you can instantly see if your text is suitable for the general public, or if it is too dense and academic.
Understanding Your Scores
Our tool uses two of the most famous and widely respected linguistic algorithms in the world to grade your text:
- Flesch Reading Ease (0-100): This score tells you how easily readable your text is. A score between 90-100 is easily understood by an average 11-year-old. A score between 60-70 is the standard for web articles and conversational blogs. A score between 0-30 is incredibly difficult and usually reserved for university research papers or legal contracts.
- Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level: This metric translates your score into a U.S. school grade. For example, a score of 8.0 means that an eighth-grader can easily understand your document. For general marketing copy, you should aim for a Grade Level of 7.0 to 9.0.
