Fighting video games lovers are in for a treat this year, with the arrival of Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, and Guilty Gear Strive. The beat ’em up frenzy will keep going for now until early in 2024, as Bandai Namco confirmed at Gamescom 2023 that Tekken 8 would be released on January 26th 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders are now available.
Katsuhiro Harada, the director of Tekken 8, stepped on stage to showcase the video game’s latest trailer. It displays the game’s wide fighter roster. It also shows us a glimpse of the narrative mode, establishing the stage for several pivotal clashes. Arcade Quest, a new single-player option in Tekken 8, will also be included once released. You’ll make a character who looks to be able to go to a virtual arcade and compete in Tekken tournaments. It all looks quite meta.
Bandai Namco has been actively pushing up Tekken 8 promotion in recent months. Last month, the video game completed an effective Closed Network Test, and Raven and Azucena were introduced during Evo 2023.
Tekken 8 will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. 26th of January release date suggests it will be available in around five months. Following the debuts of Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, it will continue the trend of high-profile fighting game releases.
